Company Profile

I am Leza Wood, Owner of Compuhelp Computer Training (see bio below). I have been in the computer training business since 1987. I have taught computer classes ranging from introduction to computers to advance level application classes.

I feel the most important aspect of computer training is to cut through the computer jargon and get to the concepts. Some technical terms are important to know and others are not necessary.  Knowing the technical name for each screen element isn't as important as knowing what to do with the screen element when you see it.  To learn about computers, or anything for that fact, it is always important to relate it back to something you already know.  A simple example would be to compare the computer's hard drive to a paper filing cabinet.  Everyone knows what a file cabinet is and how it is used.  Now they have a better understanding of what a computer hard drive can do.

I like to keep things as simple as possible while transferring the important concepts to the participant. When a person completes the course they should feel comfortable with the program and how to use it most effectively.

I work hard to maintain a professional, non-intimidating environment in every class.  If people are relaxed they feel more comfortable asking questions and most importantly getting answers.

I am a member of the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) and subscribe to several training list servers to keep current with what is happening in the computer training industry.
